  7. The DX Tape Drive Subsystems enable the user to backup and exchange data in an
  8. internationally standardized operating system independent format, which makes
  9. them ideal for micro-to-mainframe data transfer.  Complete subsystems include
  10. tape drive (half-inch, quarter-inch, 8mm, 4mm, etc.), controller (ISA or MCA
  11. to Pertec or SCSI), software (for SCO UNIX, AIX, DOS, OS/2. etc.), cables and
  12. handbooks.  The software can be run interactively with menus and context
  13. sensitive help or in unattended batch mode and supports record separator
  14. conversion, fixed and variable record lengths, and character set translation.
  15. Parameter settings of each read or write to tape can be stored for later
  16. repetition and tape activity appears in a protocol file for verification.  The
  17. software supports multi-volume processing and individual tape capacities
  18. extend to two gigabytes.
